Laid off after 19 years with one company. Should the skilled words in my résumé be in the past tense or meet the skilled word from the essential functions from the hiring company?

The tense of your skill words is dependent on the following:

  1. If you are no longer employed there, then all tenses should be past tense.
  2. If you are still in the window before your last day, then your most recent position should be in the present tense until the date changes.
  3. If you held multiple positions within 19 years, be sure there are chapters broken out, showing various skills and scope increases.
