When crafting a goal statement, is it acceptable to say broad locations as preference such as East Coast or West Coast?
Well, first of all, be very comfortable saying a city. East coast is even too general. West coast, south, really? Do you want to live in Nashville? I don't know.
Have a preference. That is what that goal profile worksheet does for you, it forces you to stack rank. Yes, I don't mind it if someone asks you and your elevator pitch says, "Yes, I would like to move to Charlotte, North Carolina and find this job." Remember, all this is going to be on you to find the jobs in Charlotte, North Carolina and you'll be able to do that if you want to move from your backyard.
So yes, would love it if you had family, friends, or your spouse wants to move to a different city, a long distance search is totally possible. You're not locked into the companies here in our backyard.
