- How do you not sound “robotic” during a S.A.R. question?
How do you not sound “robotic” during a S.A.R. question?
- You will not sound robotic, you will sound professional and prepared!
- On every question that starts with “Tell me a time when…Do you have an example of when….Point out a time when…Have you had a situation when…” then use SAR by saying the following out loud in your answer:
- The situation was…(short!)
- The actions I took were…
- As a result…(short!)
- While answering, instead of saying “Situation”, “Actions” and “Results” feel free to use first, next, and then.
- The actions are key because it focuses it on you
- Practice makes perfect. I would recommend rehearse your S.A.R.’s prior to going into an interview. Write them down and go over your S.A.R’s.
- Use the InterviewStream mock interviews to practice your answers.
