"I currently have my setting set when I view someone’s profile it shows that I’m anonymous. Is that a bad thing as far as networking and exposure goes?"

1. If you are viewing someone's profile and they are someone who is interesting to you or could introduce you to others, then why not just connect right then and there?
2. I recommend you allow people to see that you viewed their profile. They might view you right back and want to connect! Or maybe they are a hiring manager or recruiter. You never know!
   
   Summary: At your <early> stage of being on LinkedIn, be visible in all possible ways. The folks who tend to want to be anonymous are recruiters or very senior executives.
